Catalogs: Create a Modifier

Catalogs: Create a Modifier

How to Create a Modifier

Some products include extras that can change their preparation and price. To correctly reflect these extras in your catalog, you need to create modifier groups. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process step by step.

Step 1: Add a Modifier Group

  1. Go to LastAdmin | Modifiers

  2. Click the “Add Group” button
  3. A panel will open on the right-hand side where you can configure the modifier group.

Fields to Configure:

Name

This is the title of the modifier group. For example:

  • “Want extra protein?”
  • “Add additional sauces”
InfoThis name will appear in LastShop and on delivery platforms, so it should be clear for the customer.

Minimum

Define the minimum number of options a customer must select:
  • If left blank, the minimum is 0 (optional).
  • If you set a number, customers must select at least that many options to proceed.
Example: Modifier with no minimum

Maximum (Required)

Define the maximum number of options a customer can select:
  • 1 means only one option can be chosen (single choice).
  • 2 or more allows multiple selections.
InfoInfoWarningTo make the modifier mandatory, set the minimum equal to the maximum.

Example: Modifier without a maximum of 3 choices

Example: Modifier with a maximum of 3 choices

Allow Repeat

By default, each option can only be selected once.
If enabled, customers can select the same option
multiple times (e.g., two portions of the same ingredient).

Step 2: Add Modifiers to the Group

Once the group is configured, click “Add Modifier” to choose which options to include.
  • A list of existing modifiers will appear. Select the ones you need.
  • If the modifier you want doesn’t exist, click “New” to create it.
You can add one or several modifiers before clicking “Add”.

Step 2.1: Create a New Modifier

Clicking “New” opens the creation screen for an individual modifier.

Configure the following fields:

  • Name
  • Price
  • Kitchen Name
  • Short Name
  • Color

These fields work the same as when configuring products.

Step 3: Save

After adding and configuring all desired modifiers, click “Save”.

Done! You can now assign this modifier group to the relevant products in your catalog.
