Promotions: Creating Discounts

Promotions: Creating Discounts

How to create a discount promotion in Last.App

In the Promotions section, you'll find the Discounts area. From here, you can create new promotions by following these steps:

Create a New Promotion

Click the “+” button to open a dialog box with multiple tabs where you can configure your new promotion.

Description

In the first tab, “Description”, you will configure:

  • The name of the promotion

  • The public description (shown in LastShop)

  • The internal description

WarningThe name and public description are mandatory fields.

Promotion Typology

In the "Typology" tab, you’ll choose the kind of promotion you want to create. The available options are:

  • Percentage: Applies a percentage-based discount on the total.

  • Currency: Applies a set value discount on the total.

⚠️ These promotions are only valid for online store orders (LastShop). They won’t appear in the POS.

  • 2x1: From two selected products, the one with the higher price is charged.

  • Products: Offers a specific product as a gift. This type requires the use of loyalty points. You’ll need to specify the product(s) to which the promotion applies in the “Apply to” filter.

Additionally, within this tab, you can activate the following:
  • Points expense
: Limits the use of the promo code to customers who have the required number of loyalty points. When the promotion is used, the points will be deducted.

AlertThis setting should only be activated when the promotion type is "Products".

  • Free delivery: This will remove the shipping cost previously set in your LastShop settings.

Uses

In the “Uses” tab, you can define how the promotion can be used:

  • Unlimited: No restriction on the number of times the promo code can be used.

  • Limit to: Automatically limits how many times this promo code can be redeemed. Once the limit is reached, it will no longer be valid.

  • Restricted to once per user: Each registered user on LastShop can use the promo code only once.

Restrictions

This tab allows you to set specific usage restrictions:
  • Minimum spend: The promotion will only apply if the order reaches the required minimum. Otherwise, the customer can still complete the purchase but won’t benefit from the discount.

  • Locations: Limit the promotion to specific restaurant branches. It won’t be redeemable at unselected locations.

  • Days of the week: Select which weekdays the promotion will be valid.

  • Pickup type: Choose which types of orders the promotion can apply to (e.g. delivery, pickup, dine-in).

  • Available in LastPOS: When enabled, the promotion will also apply in your POS (except for fixed-amount discounts).

  • Available in LastShop: When enabled, the promotion will apply in your restaurant’s online store.

WarningTo make a promotion valid in the online store, a promo code is required.
The code must contain only letters and numbers.

  • Show popup: If enabled, a popup will appear in the online store when a user enters—only for promotions set as automatic. The popup will show the name, public description, and promo code.

Apply To

Finally, in the “Apply to” section, choose whether the promotion applies to:

  • A specific product

  • A category

  • The entire menu

AlertFor product point-based promotions, it’s mandatory to apply them to specific products, assigning a points value to each selected product.

Alert2x1 promotions can only be applied to products or categories.

Once you’ve finished setting up the promotion, click
“Create” and remember to hit “Save” in the bottom right corner before leaving the screen.

After you create your discounts, you’ll notice a new option during checkout to apply predefined promotions. Product categories will also include a new “Promos” option.
