Getting Started: How to Open and Close a Shift
Opening a Shift
To open a shift from the POS, follow these steps:

Log in to your employee profile by selecting your name or entering your PIN, depending on how employee access is configured.

If no cash drawer has been opened yet, you will see the option to start a new shift.

Enter the starting cash amount (cash float). You can:

Enter the total amount manually.

Count and input the number of bills and coins per denomination.

Or copy the amount from the last cash closing.

Tap “Open Cash Drawer”.
Closing the Shift and Generating the Z Report

From your employee profile, go to the POS menu by tapping the three-line icon (☰) in the top-right corner.

Tap “End of Shift.”

In this view, you’ll see a summary of the shift totals and have the option to print the transactions.

Select the cash drawer(s) to close by tapping their name(s).

You’ll now see a breakdown of totals by payment method (cash, card, etc.). Tap the eye icon to review each transaction and print if needed.

Enter the actual amount counted for each payment method using the calculator on the right-hand side. The system will highlight any discrepancies.

Once all amounts have been declared, the system will ask you to confirm them.

After confirmation, the cash drawer(s) will be marked with a blue check. You can now tap “Close Shift.”

Finally, choose whether to generate an X Report (end of shift) or a Z Report (end of day).
