Employee Management in LastPOS: Control permissions and team performance

From the Employee section in Last.app, you can create and configure personalized profiles for each team member. This feature not only identifies who is using the POS but also controls each employee’s permissions, limits access to sensitive functions, and analyzes individual performance.

Creating Employees

When creating a new employee, you must assign a name (and optionally a PIN) that they will use to access the POS. Then, you can define which actions they are allowed to perform in the system by selecting the corresponding permissions.
This allows you to:

• Control access to sensitive functions
• Assign tasks according to the employee’s role
• Analyze individual metrics such as sales per person
  
  

Available Permissions

Each employee profile can have one or more of the following permissions:

• Activate/Deactivate products: Allows disabling products that are not available, preventing waiters or integrated platforms from ordering them.
• Open cash drawer: Enables the employee to open the cash drawer.
• View real-time reports: Displays the day’s billing and its breakdown so far, useful for managers and supervisors.
• Enable/Disable delivery: Allows closing delivery platforms like Glovo, Uber, and Last Shop. For Just Eat, the corresponding tablet must be turned off manually.
• Apply discounts: Permits applying discounts to products or entire checks.
• Cash management: Authorizes cash entries and withdrawals from the cash drawer.
• Open/Close shift: Allows performing shift openings and closings within the system.
• Create open products/modifiers: Allows adding products not registered in the catalog temporarily and uniquely for a specific check.
• Close checks as manager: Allows closing checks without selecting a payment method, a function reserved for management roles.
• Delete products from tickets: Authorizes the removal of products already billed.
• Delete products sent to kitchen: Permits deleting products already sent to the kitchen but not yet charged.

Access to the POS

Once configured, you can define how employees will identify themselves when accessing the POS:

• By PIN: each user enters their personal code.
• By selecting their name: from the POS start screen.

Once created, the user will appear directly in the selection list in future POS logins.
